Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the Cascais Cooks platform. By accessing or using the platform you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About the Platform

Cascais Cooks ("the Platform", "we", "us") is a software and ordering platform that connects customers with independent home cooks. Cascais Cooks does not prepare, package, sell, deliver, or guarantee meals listed by independent cooks unless expressly stated otherwise.

2. Independent Cooks and Platform Role

Each cook listed on Cascais Cooks is an independent individual operating independently of Cascais Cooks. Each cook is solely responsible for:

• their own listings, descriptions, photos, and prices;
• the accuracy of ingredient and allergen information;
• the preparation, packaging, and food safety of their meals;
• order fulfilment, pickup and delivery arrangements;
• their own refund and cancellation policy; and
• compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including food hygiene, labelling, and taxation requirements.

Cascais Cooks is not a party to the transaction between you and a cook, and accepts no liability arising from that transaction.

3. Allergens and Food Safety

Allergen and ingredient information is provided by each cook and has not been independently verified by Cascais Cooks. If you have a food allergy, intolerance, or dietary requirement you must confirm all relevant details directly with the cook before placing an order. Cascais Cooks accepts no responsibility for any allergic reaction or adverse health outcome.

4. Orders and Payments

When you place an order through the Platform you are entering into a contract with the individual cook, not with Cascais Cooks. Any payment processing is facilitated by the Platform on behalf of the cook. In the event of a dispute about an order — including non-delivery, quality, or a refund — your first point of contact is the cook directly.

5. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation and refund terms are set by each individual cook and will be communicated at the time of ordering or on request. Cascais Cooks does not guarantee refunds and cannot issue refunds on a cook's behalf.

6. Accuracy of Listings

Cooks are responsible for keeping their listings accurate and up to date. Cascais Cooks does not warrant that any listing — including photos, descriptions, prices, or availability — is accurate, complete, or current. Prices and availability are subject to change without notice.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Platform to:

• submit false, misleading, or fraudulent orders or information;
• harass, abuse, or harm any cook or other user;
• attempt to circumvent the Platform's ordering or payment systems; or
• violate any applicable law or regulation.

8. Intellectual Property

All Platform content — including design, code, logos, and copy — is the property of Cascais Cooks or its licensors. Cook-submitted content (photos, descriptions) remains the property of the respective cook. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or exploit any Platform content without prior written permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cascais Cooks and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of the Platform or any transaction with a cook. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific order in question.

10. Privacy

Your personal information is collected and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using the Platform you consent to that processing. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Portugal.
